Video: Obama Rally Coverage

On Friday May 9th 2008, I was given access to cover the rally for Democratic Presidential front runner Senator Barack Obama held here in Eugene, Oregon at the University of Oregon.
I was able to work as a solo video journalist and obtained press credentials through the citizen journalist organization The Uptake and the video was picked up by the most widely read progressive political website - The Huffington Post.
The end result isn’t perfect by any means, but it does show that working in the pared down solo video journalist paradigm allows for greater mobility to cover a news event like this more effectively as compared to the mainstream news media.
