Solo Video Journalist

Musings and advocacy of the Solo Video Journalist Paradigm. Emphasis on web video journalism, developing compact shooting equipment, editing, techniques, creative vision while remaining true to the journalism perspective.

VJ Training

The paradigm of Solo Video Journalism takes many traditional shooters outside of their comfort zone.

Still shooters are being asked to produce content in ways they weren’t originally trained for. Traditional broadcast shooters are being asked to work with equipment that seems toy like and yet are expected to come back with professional quality footage.

Some can take the bull by the horns and learn on their own, while others need to look at structured training that breaks the mold of convention. The various resources listed on this page provide training for shooters making the transition to shooting in the Solo Video Journalist paradigm.
